Who I am
As a performer, Noah Randall captivates his audience with his expression and passionate playing on all saxophones. Noah Randall is a Kansas City-based saxophonist and audio engineer who blends his traditional music influences of the jazz greats like Charlie Parker and Kenny Garrett, with his love for genres like Hip-Hop and R&B to provide an audience with an experience like no other. Randall currently attends Kansas City Kansas Community College, majoring in music, and plans to achieve his goal of earning an associate's degree. Most recently, Randall performed at the famous and historic Blue Room in Kansas City, Missouri, with the award-winning KCKCC Blue Devil Funk Band. Noah intends to make his music as possible to his audience, and push as much emotion as humanly possible through his horn.
Randall’s love for music began at a youthful age through the pop and R&B hits of the early 2000s, and he was soon introduced to jazz through other musicians in his family. Throughout the years, Noah has had the privilege of studying with some of the most successful players in the city, including Matt Baldwin (Previous music director of MCC), Chad Reed (high school band director), Brett Jackson (Director of bands at KCKCC), and Justin Binek (Assistant director at KCKCC). In high school, Noah played lead in his high school jazz band through a performance at KMEA, achieved alternate position in the district band, and received the Louis Armstrong Award in his senior year. He also performed with the prestigious 18th Street combo with the Kansas City Jazz Academy in high school. He has also led his own trio through gigs in the city and plays lead in the KCKCC Monday Night Big Band, and performs often with the 1 o’clock jazz combo at KCKCC.
In the future, after receiving his Associate’s, Noah plans to either attend Kansas University or somewhere out of state to further his passion. He plans to lead more gigs and start some audio gigs as well. He has a dedication to furthering his knowledge of music like no other, and hopes to play in more bands in the city soon. He has an all-time goal of living and performing in NYC once he's done with college.
